Today, Wednesday, January 4th , the University of Houston Department of Public Safety (UHDPS) will be TESTING the outdoor warning siren component of the Emergency Alert Notification System.
The TEST will take place at about 1 p.m. This is only a TEST. No action is required.
NOTE: the test will be cancelled if there are thunderstorms in the area.
In an actual emergency, the siren may be activated by UHDPS if it is unsafe to be outdoors. When you hear the siren, you should:
- Seek shelter indoors
- Check www.uh.edu/emergency for instruction and information
- Wait for text/e-mail giving the “All Clear” notification
